OverviewThe Type 98 Ke-Ni (九八式軽戦車 ケニ Kyuhachi-shiki keisensha Ke-Ni) (Also known as Type 98A Ke-Ni) is a Japanese light tank designed to replace the Type 95 Ha-Gō light tank.

The Type 98 Ke-Ni-Kai (Also known as Type 98B Ke-Ni) is am experimental model with Christie type suspension with 4 large road wheels with helical springs. The suspension did not have return rollers and the idlers are at the front, with the sprocket-wheels at the front.
The Ta-Se (Taiku (Anti-Air) Sensha (Tank)) is an anti-aircraft variant with development starting in November 1941. It was equipped with a singular 20mm Type 2. A single prototype was produced. Another design with twin guns was conceived in 1944, but wasn't taken further.
