The Westland Welkin is a British high altitude fighter.

First concieved in 1940, in response to the arrival of the modified Junkers Ju 86 P-1 high-altitude bomber that flew reconnaissance missions suggesting the Luftwaffe might re-open bombing England from high altitude. The threat was never materialised and Westland produced very few of these to fly. Information about the Welkin was released after the war was over.
